5g launch date in India -These 13 cities will get first 5G service

The Department of Telecommunications (DOT) have confirmed that 5g services will completely launch in India in 2022.

And 5G service will reach other cities by the end of the year.

This project was completed by December 2021 with the costing of Rs224 crore,

These are the 13 cities which will get 5g services first Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Delhi, and Mumbai.

 

When will 5G services be rolled out in India?

The DOT  had theretofore Said that it already complete the 5G project by December 31, 2021. Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had announced that the government may auction 5G spectrum, inclusive of airwaves, in early June. This service will be made available in 13 cities till August and September 2022.

 

Which telecom operator will roll out 5G services first?

DoT has not disclosed which telecom operator between Jio,Vodafone and Airtel will launch 5G services first. However, all the three telecom operators are expected to launch their 5G services at the same time. According to reports, Jio, Airtel and even Vodafone have already set up their test sites in 13 cities that are expected to get 5G services. According to reports Jio, Airtel have claimed to be first launcher of 5g services in India.

 

Airtel's Bharti Mittal has confirmed that the company's 5G network is ready and will be Launch 5g services soon after the auction is completed. As soon as the recommendations come in and the auctions take place, within months I would say you have initial 5G networks coming up and Airtel is gearing up for that,” Mittal had told ET Telecom in an interview.

On other side Jio said that they completed Jio 5G coverage plans for more than 1000 top citied in overall India. The telecom company has said that it plans to roll out 5G in India in a phased manner.
